Iceland vs. Norway in World Cup Preliminaries

Iceland will play it’s Nordic neighbor Norway in a home game at Laugardalsvöllur stadium at 6:45 pm today. The match is the team’s first in the preliminary round of the 2014 World Cup.

As the flags of the two countries consist of the same colors, supporters of Iceland are asked to turn out in blue.

The Football Association of Iceland says that support from the crowd can may make all the difference in today’s came.

Tickets will be on sale at the venue from midday and are also available on midi.is.

In other football news, Iceland won Slovenia 3-0 in their first game in the UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship. The match took place in Slovenia yesterday, ruv.is reports.

Iceland’s next game is against Estonia on Sunday.

In local football, Thór/KA are Icelandic women’s champions for the first time after a 9-0 defeat of Selfoss in their Akureyri home.
