The competition is held in Azerbaijan in May with the two-part semi-finals on May 22 and 24, and the grand final on May 26. Iceland is predicted to take 12th place, four places better than the familiar 16th place Iceland knows all too well.

The William Hill betting agency predicts Sweden will win Baku 2012, as the competition has been titled this year. Russia is predicted to take second place and Denmark third. Belarus is predicted to come in last, ví reports.

The United Kingdom is expected to take 8th place. Engelbert Humperdinck represents the UK and will start off the evening with his performance. Unfortunately, performing first is considered to be bad luck.
