Iceland supports MND sufferers in Mongolia

The Motor Neuron Disease (MND) Association in Iceland will ship a 40-foot container to Ulan Bator, Mongolia, in the next few days for the aid of local people suffering from the disease.

Staff from the National Hospital in Iceland will travel to Mongolia to teach staff at the University Hospital in Ulan Bator how to use the equipment being shipped, including respirators. Morgunbladid reports.

The Icelandic MND Association decided to help MND patients in Mongolia after learning about the poor condition of the University Hospital in Ulan Bator at a recent international MND conference in Japan.

Iceland’s Health Minister Siv Fridleifsdóttir took part in loading the container yesterday and closed it after the last piece of equipment had been carried into it.
