Iceland String Quartet to Perform in New York

The principles of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra will perform in an added Nordic Sounds concert in the Scandinavia House, the Nordic Center in America, on 58 Park Avenue in New York on May 14 at 8 pm.

The principles of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Sigrún Edvaldsdóttir, Sif Tulinius, Helga Thórarinsdóttir, and Bryndís Halla Gylfadóttir are all central players in Reykjavík’s lively music scene, a press release states.

The quartet will make its first appearance at the Scandinavia House next week to perform a string quartet by Johannes Brahms, Antonín Dvorak “American” quartet, a new piece by Icelandic composer Thórdur Magnússon, as well as a selection of Icelandic songs.
