Iceland ranks 27th on a list of countries in the 2016-2017 Global Competitiveness Report, published by the World Economic Forum. That’s a move up from 29th place last year, RÚV reports. The report analyzes 138 countries.

Switzerland ranks first, the eighth year in a row, followed by Singapore and the US. The Netherlands and Germany rank fourth and fifth, followed by Sweden and the UK. Finland, Norway and Denmark are in 10-12th place. Yemen is at the bottom of the list, in 138th place.
