Kirch and Andrésson both live in Berlin and have extensive experience of the international art scene. They have worked with Kjartansson on an earlier occasion, on his recent exhibition in the Gallery Luhring Augustine in New York.
The Venice Biennale opens on June 7 next year and runs through November 22. The Icelandic booth will be located centrally in the city, in Palazzo Michiel dal Brusa, close to the Rialto bridge.
The Center for Icelandic Art (CIA) is organizing Iceland’s participation in the Venice Biennale and the curators will work closely with CIA’s director Christian Schoen, who is also manager of the Icelandic project.
