The online database on swimming pools in Iceland, sundlaugar.is, will launch a new full-fledged English version under swimminginiceland.com this month, to make it easier for foreign users to obtain information from the website.
“For a year now the sundlaugar.is team has been working very hard on gathering information and pictures of all the swimming pools and hot springs in Iceland. And it’s an ongoing project since there are so many of them,” the website’s creator Robert van Spanje told icelandreview.com.
“Luckily there are many people helping out. We get pictures and information sent in from tourists traveling the country and the people looking after the pools,” he added.
The new English version will include innovations such as increased cooperation with swimming pool staff to provide information on what’s new, available jobs, swimming courses and a mailing list.
