Iceland to Open Consulate General in Nuuk

Iceland is to open a consulate general in Nuuk, Greenland, on July 1 with the primary role of strengthening business connections between the two countries and increase cultural relations and Arctic cooperation.

The 2013 government budget of Iceland allowed for the opening of the consulate, on which a parliamentary resolution was established in 2010.

Pétur Ásgeirsson has been appointed Consul General.
