Iceland Naming Committee Rejects Clinton Again

Clinton cannot be used as a first name in Iceland, according to the latest ruling of the Icelandic Naming Committee from October 3. In a separate ruling in August, the committee rejected Clinton as a middle name.

Three new names, all male, were approved by the committee earlier this month: Mark, Kamal and Þóri. Changing the name Robert to Hróbjartur (its original Norse form) was also approved, ruv.is reports.

In addition to Clinton, the first male names Karma and Duane were rejected, along with middle names Haugeland, Huxland and Fletcher and female names Aríela, Kaia and Lady.
