Iceland to Import Bio-Waste?

Triumvirate Environmental, an American environmental consulting and services firm that specializes in hazardous waste management for biotechnology, has made an offer to buy Kalka, the waste incineration plant in Reykjanesbær for ISK 1.2 billion (USD 100 million / EUR 77 million).

The owners, municipalities in the Reykjanes peninsula, 50 kilometers / 30 miles west of Reykjavík, have this week to respond to the offer, eyjan.is reports. The Kalka waste incineration plant has not been profitable for the last couple of years, costing taxpayers in the area a lot of money.
