One MP, Atli Gíslason, was absent and Jón Bjarnason abstained from voting, reports.

The motion was discussed in parliament prior to the vote. A total of 33 MPs gave their opinion on the matter, the voting lasting four hours.

Þór has criticized the Icelandic government due to problems passing the constitutional bill despite the draft having been widely supported in last year’s referendum.

General elections are scheduled for April 27.
