Iceland Foreign Minister Meets with Russian Deputy

Minister for Foreign Affairs Össur Skarphéðinsson met with the Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Titov in Reykjavík yesterday.

According to a press release from the Icelandic Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the ministers discussed Iceland-Russia cooperation on Arctic issues, including in the field of geothermal research for domestic heating in Eastern Russia.

Syria and Palestine were also on the agenda.

Titov then met with Icelandic Permanent Secretary of State Einar Gunnarsson and other officials to discuss long-standing bilateral trade between the two countries, as well as cultural cooperation.
