Iceland Express Sells Healthier Food Onboard Planes

Icelandic budget airline Iceland Express reached an agreement with health food company Ávaxtabíllinn, in cooperation with Gaedabakstur bakery, last week on producing various dishes to be sold onboard the airline’s passenger jets as of June 1.

Iceland Express CEO Matthías Imsland and Haukur Magnússon, managing director of Ávaxtabíllinn.

Passengers will thus be able to choose from a range of pasta dishes, fruit and vegetable salads from Ávaxtabíllinn as well as baguettes and pizzas from Gaedabakstur.

“Lately we have noticed increased demand for fresh and healthy food among our passengers […] and we are certain that this new service will be well received,” CEO of Iceland Express Matthías Imsland said in a statement.
