Icelandic airline Iceland Express received an award for Best Website for a Low Cost Airline at the World Low Cost Airlines Congress in London last week.
Ómar Ólafsson, head of information and technology at Iceland Express, accepts the award.
“This is a fantastic recognition of the extensive work that we’ve put into developing our website,” Iceland Express CEO Matthías Imsland said in a statement. “It is absolutely key for Iceland Express to have a thoroughly organized website because it is not only the company’s face to the outside world, but also the basis for our communication with most of our customers.”
Six other airlines were nominated for the award, AirAsia, Wizz Air, Oasis Hong Kong, Silverjet, Tiger Airways and FlyNordic.
When choosing the winner of the award, the jury gave points for clarity and easy access to web content, with a special emphasis on simple and user-friendly booking process. Points were also given for web design, images, typography and creativity in presenting information.
