Iceland Express Objects to Passenger Facility Charges

Iceland Express has filed a protest against the 50 percent increase in passenger facility charges at Keflavík International Airport, where the airline is now obligated to pay nearly ISK 700 (USD 12, EUR 8) for each passenger instead of ISK 450 (USD 8, EUR 5).

As revealed in a press release, Iceland Express was not notified of the increase in passenger facility charges until nine days after it had taken effect, ruv.is reports.

Iceland Express CEO Matthías Imsland said this procedure is irregular. His airline has already sold tickets many months in advance and the increase in passenger facility charges was not taken into account when the tickets were sold.
