Iceland Express Flies to Winnipeg

The airline Iceland Express has decided to offer flights to Winnipeg in Manitoba in Canada next summer. The airline is planning to offer two flights a week from the beginning of June.

Winnipeg is the capital of Manitoba province with a population of about 1.3 million. It has a large Icelandic minority but it has been estimated that 500,000 inhabitants of North America can trace their roots back to Iceland.

Winnipeg has not seen as severe an economic slump as many places in North America. There is hardly any unemployment there and real estate prices are increasing.

The nature of Manitoba is stunning and the state has large lakes like Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba. Winter sports, like skiing and skating are highly popular in the state.

The University of Manitoba is located in Winnipeg.

Iceland Express says Winnipeg airport offers connections to many cities in Canada, the US and South America.

With Winnipeg as a destination, Iceland Express now offers flights to 27 destinations.
