Iceland Exports Sea Cucumbers to China

Icelandic Chinese Products Ltd. has for the past three years been preparing exports of sea cucumbers, caught in Icelandic waters, to China. The company has now reached an agreement with a large factory in Qingdao which will process the sea cucumbers.

According to skip.is, the sea cucumbers will be used for many different products in China, everything from traditional consumer goods and food supplements, which will also be marketed in Europe. Icelandic Chinese Products have exported frozen haddock and cod to China for some time.

The company is owned by Kristján F. Olgeirsson, an Icelander who has worked as a captain in the US, and Bing Xiao, who has extensive experience in exporting seafood from the West to the Far East.
