The fair is the largest of its kind in the Nordic countries with around 100,000 visitors expected this year. This year’s event focuses on literature from the Nordic countries, ruv.is reports.

Fabulous Iceland, the marketing initiative established before the 2011 Frankfurt Book Fair where Iceland was the guest of honor, the Icelandic Literature Fund and Icelandic book publishers will present Icelandic literature to foreign publishers.

The Icelandic authors taking part this year include Sjón, Einar Már Guðmundsson, Gerður Kristný Guðjónsdóttir and Steinunn Sigurðardóttir.

Minister for Education, Science and Culture Katrín Jakobsdóttir will attend the event.

The festival runs from September 27 to 30.
