Iceland Ends Great Britain’s EuroBasket Hopes

The Icelandic national team in men’s basketball beat Great Britain 71-69 in London last night, taking them a step closer to securing a spot in the finals of next year’s EuroBasket tournament for the first time. Great Britain’s third consecutive loss means that they have been eliminated, bbc.com reports.

Iceland was down 28-38 at half time but managed to come out on top after the break.

Jón Arnór Stefánsson was the highest-scoring on the Icelandic side with 23 points.
