Iceland Crushes the Dutch in Handball

The Icelandic national team in men’s handball beat the Dutch team by 14 goals, 41-27, in a home game in Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll yesterday evening. The teams were competing for a seat in the 2013 World Championship in Spain.

Iceland took the lead in the first half but the Dutch were never far away. The score at half time was 17-14 for Iceland, reports.

In the second half, Iceland upped their game, gradually increased the gap and ended up boasting a confident victory. The team is therefore in a good position before the next team with the Dutch, which will take place in Geleen, The Netherlands on June 16.

Snorri Steinn Guðjónsson was the most successful Icelandic player with ten goals, followed by Aron Pálmarsson who scored eight goals for Iceland.
