The Ford retailer in Iceland, Brimborg, and Icelandic New Energy received ten electric hydrogen cars of the make Ford Focus FCV yesterday. In addition to the two Ford Focus FCVs already in Iceland, and the country’s ten other hydrogen cars, Iceland now boasts the largest hydrogen car fleet in Europe.

“[We] have the pleasure of announcing still further steps in demonstrating hydrogen as fuel for transport; hydrogen which is made from water and renewable power from local resources,” an announcement on the website of Icelandic New Energy reads.
According to Morgunbladid, Brimborg took the first eco-friendly step when its environmental policy was developed in 1996. Car manufacturers assume that by 2015, a few hundred thousand hydrogen cars will have hit the global market.
