Hólmfrídur Magnúsdóttir scored the first goal for Iceland in the 39th minute, followed by a goal by Dagný Brynjarsdóttir in the 41st minute, shortly before the end of the first half, reports.

Iceland made quite an effort to score more goals in the second half but in vain, and so the game ended with what was described as a “fair” victory by two goals.

Yesterday’s game was Iceland’s last in the European Championship 2013 qualifying round this year; the next game will be played against Belgium on April 4, 2012.
