Iceland Beats Croatia, 1-0

By Iceland Review

The Icelandic men’s national football team beat top-seeded team Croatia in last night’s World Cup qualifying match, thanks to an exciting 89th minute goal by defender Hörður Björgvin Magnússon, reports RÚV.

Playing in place of established left-back Ari Freyr Skúlason, 24-year-old Hörður Björgvin who plays for Bristol City made the most of a good opportunity when he headed home a corner kick from Gylfi Sigurðsson. Iceland is now level with Croatia in their qualifying group, each with 13 points.

You can watch Hörður Björgvin’s goal on the RÚV website here.
