Photographer Agnieszka Sosnowska, who is based in Iceland, will exhibit her work in Vision Neil Folberg Gallery, Jerusalem, Israel, October 15-December 17, as part of the Manofim Jerusalem Contemporary Art Festival 2015.
Agnieszka’s photographs serve as “expressive visual diaries and extended self-portraits, set against the backdrop of Icelandic nature while her personal symbolism allures to the country’s sagas and folk stories,” as described in a press release.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, Agnieszka has lived in East Iceland with her husband for the past decade. Agnieszka studied photography in Boston, Massachusetts, during which she began a series of self-portraits that now spans 25 years.
Agnieszka will be present at the opening of her exhibition, October 15, from 7 to 11 pm. On October 19 she will give a talk at the gallery at 5:30 pm, followed by a discussion on climate change with Professor Marcelo Sternberg of Tel-Aviv University, who is collaborating with Icelandic researchers.
