Iceland and Britain Increase Defense Cooperation

Iceland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir signed an agreement on defense cooperation between Iceland and Britain with the British Minister of State for Europe Jim Murphy in the UK yesterday.

The agreement included increased flow of information and annual consultative meetings on matters of interest in the North Atlantic, Fréttabladid reports.

The two countries will also estimate whether further cooperation in education and training in the fields of policing, search and rescue at sea and terrorism defenses is necessary.
