Iceland Airwaves Sold Out

Tickets to the Iceland Airwaves music festival, which will be held in Reykjavík October 13-17, have sold out. More than 1,000 artists will perform during the festival, which will host nearly 300 concerts.

This will be the largest festival so far; foreign headliners include Swedish pop diva Robyn. The full lineup has now been announced. Among the latest additions are the Icelandic band FM Belfast and American hipster Dan Deacon, as stated on

Since Iceland Airwaves was first held in an airplane hangar in 1999 it has grown in size and popularity. Rolling Stone magazine once called it “the hippest long weekend on the annual music festival calendar,” which has been adapted as the festival’s slogan.
