Iceland Airwaves Sold Out, YAIC Coming Up

Tickets to the 2011 Iceland Airwaves music festival in Reykjavík sold out this week, earlier than ever before. Those who already have tickets will be pleased to know that the festival’s managers have announced even more artists.

The lineup includes: Mugison (IS), Sinéad O’Connor (IE), James Murphy DJ set (US), Dikta (IS), Iceage (DK), Mr. Silla (IS), Blaz Roca (IS) and Raised Among Wolves (DK).

Iceland Airwaves will run from October 12 to 16. The annual conference You Are In Control (YAIC) on the international music industry will precede the festival, taking place October 10-12.

“YAIC aims to explore opportunities in digital business developments along with discussions on how to capitalize on digital distribution by integrating different experiences across several sectors, including music, film, design, arts, gaming and more,” as it says in a press release.
