Iceland Airwaves Music Festival Sells Out

The last pass for the Iceland Airwaves music festival sold out yesterday. This is the fourth year in a row that the festival has sold out before the program begins, which has grown in popularity every year since its inception in 1999.

Over 200 bands and soloists will perform at the Iceland Airwaves festival this year, held between October 17 and October 21 in nine venues downtown Reykjavík, including nightclubs Gaukurinn and NASA, Reykjavík Art Gallery – Hafnarhús and Fríkirkja Church.

Airwaves will also be celebrated at the Nordic House in Reykjavík where the festival-related photo exhibition “So Far/Til Thessa” will be on display. Smaller events will take place at record stores and cafés around the city and the annual Airwaves party will be held at the Blue Lagoon.

Though passes for the festival have sold out, those interested in attending Iceland Airwaves can still buy tickets for single events. For more information, click here.
