The Icelandic Ultra Mega Technoband Stefán (UMTS) will play at the Faroese music festival G! July 19 to 21 on behalf of Iceland Airwaves, while the Faroese Boys in a Band will play at Iceland Airwaves for G! next fall.

The cooperation between the two festivals involves the organizers of G!, held annually in the town Gata in the Faroe Islands, choosing on group of performers from Airwaves to participate in G! In exchange the organizers of Iceland Airwaves choose a band from G!
Many of the Faroe Islands’ best known musicians will perform at G!, including Eivör Pálsdóttir, Teitur and the newcomer Bujam. Serena Maneesh and Adjágas from Norway, Nephew from Denmark, Loney, Dear from Sweden and Pétur Ben and Dr. Spock from Iceland are also scheduled to perform at the festival.

UMTS recently returned from a tour in Scotland where the band played in the country’s largest music festival, Rock Ness, and at the goNorth Festival.
