Iceland’s Women Better Educated than Men

Two thirds of all students that graduate from university in Iceland are female. Generally, university students are increasing in Iceland; last year 3,362 individuals graduated with a university degree, which is a new record in Iceland’s history of education.

University graduates in Iceland come from very different age groups; the youngest person graduating from university in 2006 was 19, while the oldest was 75, reports.

According to numbers from Statistics Iceland, women are also in the majority of those who graduate from the secondary level of education, or 52 percent. Almost 5,000 students graduated from Iceland’s junior colleges last year.
