TIME magazine has named Iceland’s West Fjords one of the world’s best-kept secrets.

The northwestern-most part of the country is one of four destinations in Europe to make the top 24 list; the others are located in the Netherlands, England and France.
“Memory is long here, and the landscape has a palpable supernatural spirit,” are among the positive words written about the West Fjords in the latest issue of Time magazine, with the new New World Pope Francis on the cover.
