Iceland’s uncrowned Queen of Suspense Yrsa Sigurdardóttir has made it to the German bestseller list of paperbacks for the first time with her book Sér grefur gröf (2006), which was published in Germany this week and went straight to number 39.
The book, Das gefrorene Licht in German and My Soul to Take in English, is currently being translated into 14 different languages and will soon be published in other countries as well, including the US and the UK, 24 Stundir reports.
Sigurdardóttir’s book from 2005, Thridja táknid (Last Rituals; Das letzte Ritual), is being translated into 31 languages and the publication of her recently released third suspense thriller Aska (“Ashes”) is also being planned in about 30 countries around the world.
