Iceland’s Steed Lord on So You Think You Can Dance

The song “Vanguardian” with the Icelandic band Steed Lord was played on Fox reality television series So You Think You Can Dance recently. One of the show’s choreographers, Sonya Tayeh, has worked with Steed Lord on two of their videos.

“Sonya is a close friend of ours and is working with us on many things regarding Steed Lord. She first contacted us last year to ask for permission to use our music on the show. We had to sign a huge contract with Fox to legally grant the station the right for three songs which Sonya will use on the show,” explained Steed Lord frontwoman Svala Björgvins to mbl.is.

“It’s a big opportunity for us and a great advertisement because millions watch this show. Fox is also very supportive of all the musicians who are featured on the show and helps to raise their profile,” Björgvinsdóttir added.

“It will be fun to watch the shows when the other songs are used. It’s all so exciting!” Björgvinsdóttir exclaimed. “It is a fabulous achievement for a small underground band from Iceland who do everything from a small apartment in Los Angeles.”
