Iceland’s Sportacus Meets the Tories in London

By Iceland Review

Magnús Scheving, producer of Icelandic children’s program LazyTown and the show’s hero Sportacus, will meet with David Cameron, leader of the British conservative party “the Tory Party” at a closed meeting tomorrow.

“Cameron is a great promoter of increased public health protection and he is very concerned about that image,” Scheving told Fréttabladid, adding that Cameron had requested the meeting. LazyTown also promotes a healthy lifestyle.

After the meeting, Scheving will hold a presentation in a closed group of 20 people including representatives of associations for the prevention of heart disease, associations for sufferers of diabetes and large companies.

According to UK newspaper the Daily Telegraph, Sportacus will become the face of the Tories’ campaign against child obesity, but Scheving said those claims were wrong.

“We have cooperated closely with UK’s minister of health who comes from the Labour Party, so LazyTown is in fact bipartisan in Britain,” Scheving said.
