Iceland’s only country restaurant, Kántrýbær, has been put up for sale. The cowboy burger joint in Skagaströnd, Northwest Iceland, has, for as long as anyone can remember, been the only restaurant of its kind in Iceland, mbl.is reports.
Founded by the local country and western singer Hallbjörn Hjarnarsson, the restaurant has over the last couple of years been owned by his daughter Svenný Hallbjörnsdóttir and her husband Gunnar Halldórsson.
“It is time to do something new. We have been running the restaurant for many years. And the business is good in the summer. In the winter, we cook for the kids in the local school,” Gunnar said.
