A new album by Icelandic rock band Skátar Goth bádum megin (“Goth on both sides”), released on vinyl, has finally hit the market, four months behind schedule. Its release was originally scheduled for October last year, but was delayed because of the economic crisis.
The two covers of the vinyl album was designed by Baldur Baldursson.
To commemorate the release, Skátar have published a new song from the album on MySpace, “Pantee Lions (Riding Beasts at the Mini-Bar).” Only 500 copies of the vinyl album have been produced.
Since October a new member, Kolbeinn Hugi Höskuldsson, has joined the band. The other band members are Pétur Már Gudmundsson, Björn Kolbeinsson, Benedikt Reynisson and Markús Bjarnason.
Goth bádum megin was recorded in a few days in August and produced by Jay Pellicci and J.J. Golden in San Francisco. It is available on the band’s MySpace site and at record stores in Iceland.
