Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority Ismail Haniyeh has invited President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson and Icelandic Foreign Minister Össur Skarphédinsson to the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh extended the invitation at a meeting with Sveinn Rúnar Hauksson, chairman of the Iceland-Palestine Association, yesterday, visir.is reports.
According to an announcement from Hauksson, he met with Haniyeh for about an hour. During the meeting Haniyeh expressed his gratitude for the support of Icelandic officials, especially mentioning Skarphédinsson.
