During their stay, a free trade agreement between Iceland and China, on which the two countries have worked for six years, will be signed by the foreign ministers of both countries, ruv.is reports.

A trade convention will be held in Beijing on the occasion where Icelandic and Chinese companies and institutions will discuss the opportunities that open up with the free trade agreement.

Jóhanna was invited to China by former Chinese President Wen Jiabao when he came to Iceland on an official visit one year ago. Jóhanna and the former president will also meet during her stay in China.
