Sigurdardóttir met President Obama and his wife Michelle at a reception for heads of state, which was held last week in relation to the United Nations general assembly and the UN summit on the millennium goals, reports.

During the reception, the PM iterated her invitation.

Iceland’s Foreign Minister Össur Skarphédinsson had earlier invited President Obama to come to Iceland after they met at a NATO summit in April last year.
