Iceland’s Össur Post Record Profits

Icelandic orthopedics/prosthetics producer Össur posted almost four times higher profits in 2008 than in 2007. The company’s net profit last year amounted to USD 28 million (EUR 22 million), compared to USD 7.6 million (EUR 5.9 million) in 2007.

Last year Össur sold products worth USD 350 million (EUR 273 million), a four percent year-over-year increase, ruv.is reports.

CEO of Össur Jón Sigurdsson said in a statement that the economic crisis has a limited impact on the company’s operations, which also holds true for the healthcare sector in general.
