After the break, the French led for the first time with 22-21, increasing their lead to 25-23 halfway through the second half. Iceland then equalized and ended the game one up, 30-29.

France, who are current World and Olympic Champions, beat Iceland in the final at the 2008 games in Beijing.

Iceland played hosts Great Britain yesterday taking the game with a 17 point lead, 41:24.

Iceland’s next game will be against Hungary on Wednesday.
