Iceland’s Jónsi Wins First Ever Nordic Music Prize

Icelandic musician Jónsi was honored with the first ever Nordic Music Prize for his album Go during the by:Larm music festival in Oslo February 17-19. His album was nominated among the work of 11 other Nordic artists.

The jury, comprised of music reporters and professionals from the music industry in the Nordic countries and the UK, concluded:

“The music of the winner could only have been made here, in the North. It sounds and almost smells like Iceland. It’s brave and life affirming pop music that grabs you by the heart in flamboyant technicolour,” as stated on icelandicmusic.is.
