Iceland’s Hafdís Huld Working on New Album

Icelandic singer-songwriter Hafdís Huld is currently busy writing and recording her second studio album in collaboration with other musicians, following up on the success of her debut Dirty Paper Cup.

To feel at home while recording, Hafdís Huld chose a cold and snowy place—an isolated studio in North Yorkshire—and, according to an Iceland Music Export (IMX) press release, the musician was delighted when temperatures dropped low enough for her to wear a hat and gloves inside the studio.

The first single from the new album is scheduled for release in April but those who attend her UK concerts this month and next will get a preview of some of her new songs.

Hafdís Huld plays at The Cellars in Eastney, Hampshire on February 25 and at The Slaughtered Lamb (Electro Acoustic Club) in London on March 11. She also played during the Nordsklang Festival in Switzerland earlier this month.
