Iceland’s General Election: Latest Results

The latest results indicate that the Indepedence Party has extended its lead to 28.5 percent of the vote, an increase of 4.8 percent on the last election in 2009.

The results of the other parties which have reached the five percent minimum barrier to be elected into parliament are as follows:

Progressive Party: 25.2 percent (up by 10.4 percent)

Social Democrats: 13.1 percent (down by 16.7 percent)

Left Greens: 9.9 percent (down by 11.8 percent)

Bright Future: 7.7 percent (up by 7.7 percent)
