“I will sing four operatic arias and will just appear by myself […], that is, as a solo artist,” Cortes told Morgunbladid. He has never performed in front of a larger group of people in concert before.
Cortes is also preparing a concert in Iceland in August and has been hired to sing with the Icelandic Opera next fall.
The tenor’s last album topped the British bestseller list in classical music and his debut album was nominated for the Brit Awards.
The Proms music festival is held in different locations in the UK every year and is one of the largest classical music festivals in the world. It takes place between July 17 and September 12 this year and comprises 80 different events.
