Iceland’s Football Team Gets Ready to Face Serbia

The Icelandic women’s national team is preparing to compete against Serbia in the semi-finals for European Woman’s Championship. The Icelandic team has good chances to make it to the finals.

The teams coach, Sigurdur Ragnar Eyjólfsson, was delighted when Iceland’s best goal keeper, Thóra B. Helgadóttir announced that she would be able to go to Serbia.

Helgadóttir plays with for Dutch team Anderlecht and she will be joining the Icelandic national team in one of the last games before the finals.

Iceland won the last match against Serbia 4-0 and Ragnarson told national broadcaster RÚV yesterday that victory was the only option for the Icelandic team in the rematch.

The game will take place on Wednesday, May 28.
