The first online pharmacy in Iceland, Apótekid, opens today. From now on, people will be able to order prescription medicine on the internet and have them delivered to their homes.
In order to use the online store, people have to register and have their physician send prescriptions electronically to Apótekid, 24 Stundir reports.
The operation of online pharmacy stores will be legalized with medicine law amendments that take effect today.
Apótekid is comprised of pharmacies owned by Lyfja.
