Iceland’s first lady Woman of the Year

Iceland’s first lady, Dorrit Moussaieff, has been chosen as the Woman of the Year by the Icelandic women’s magazine Nýtt Líf.

In a press release issued by the magazine yesterday, Moussaieff is described as “a powerful businesswoman and a role model for all women who want their dreams to come true.”

The press release says Moussaieff is a “magnificent” representative for Iceland wherever she goes. The magazine praises the first lady’s active participation in charity work supporting children and teenagers with mental illnesses, her dedication to Icelandic culture and her role in the promotion of Icelandic artists abroad.

Moussaieff, who was born in Israel and raised in the UK, was granted Icelandic citizenship in July this year. Nýtt Líf says Moussaieff is loved by Icelanders and that she is proud of being Iceland’s first lady.
