The announcement by the Icelandic government Wednesday that it plans to introduce a bill in parliament, requiring companies to prove they pay all employees the same, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality and nationality, has received attention world-wide. So much, indeed, that a video by Attn has been viewed 4.7 million times, received 28,000 likes and been shared more than 78,000 times.

The bill, expected to pass into law, will require every company with 25 or more employees to obtain a certificate proving they provide equal pay for work of equal value. Authorities expect to eradicate the gender pay gap in Iceland by 2022.
