Iceland’s Capital Enjoys Indian Summer

By Iceland Review

Temperatures around 10°C (50°F) are forecast for this week in Reykjavík, which is much warmer than usual in late November. Last weekend too, capital residents were enjoying the Indian summer, mild and calm weather.

Þorsteinn Jónsson, meteorologist at the Icelandic Met Office, told mbl.is that the warm weather will continue throughout the week.

“We have been lucky this autumn as warm easterly winds carry warm air from the European continent to Iceland. And there are no northerly winds coming, the cold Arctic air remains far north of Iceland,” he said. “It’s Indian summer we will be having this week.”
